Programme

A programme initiated by the International Labour Organisation and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) in a mutual effort to provide useful support to local administrations and other local stakeholders dealing with city development and related economic and social issues.

This programme is meant to contribute to decentralised development and the improvement of the conditions of women and men living and working in poor urban settlements in developing countries.

It is structured around a series of training workshops that focus on tools and good practice in employment creation in urban infrastructure and service delivery. It is linked to other ongoing initiatives, and seeks to ensure effective knowledge-sharing and practical follow-up after the training.
